Business English (BEC)

Cambridge Business Exams refer to a series of English language proficiency examinations offered by the University of Cambridge. These exams are designed to assess the English language skills of individuals who need to use English for business purposes.

The Cambridge Business Exams are divided into three main levels, which are commonly referred to as BEC Preliminary, BEC Vantage and BEC Higher. Here's a brief overview of each level:

• BEC Preliminary (B1 level): This is the first level and it assesses the ability to use English in simple business situations. It covers basic communication skills and vocabulary needed for everyday work tasks.
• BEC Vantage (B2 level): The second level focuses on a higher level of English language skills for business. It assesses the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of business situations, such as meetings, presentations, negotiations, and report writing.
• BEC Higher (C1 level): This level is designed for individuals who need to demonstrate an advanced level of English proficiency in a business context. It covers complex language skills and the ability to handle demanding tasks such as participating in discussions, giving detailed presentations, and writing reports.

Each level of the Cambridge Business Exams consists of multiple parts, including Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. The exams are recognized and respected worldwide by employers, educational institutions, and government bodies as a measure of proficiency in English for business purposes.

These exams are not so popular anymore, therefore we would recommend the general Cambridge exams.
