A methodology course for teachers of Business English

International House Certificate In Business English Teaching Level 1

The course includes:
30 interactive seminars covering teaching of Business English

• 13 hours on different Business topics e.g. banking, marketing, human resources
• 6 hours on professional teaching skills e.g. analyzing students’ needs and lesson planning
• 1 hour on activities and materials for teaching Business English

Each seminar includes a written summary of the topic for you to keep for reference and there are many activities which can be used or adapted for classroom use.

Assessment is based on a portfolio of 7 short tasks and an essay about what you have learnt about teaching a particular business class.
 
What you need:
To be able to speak, write and understand English at about CAE level or higher.
At least a basic level of training and some experience of teaching, not necessarily teaching Business English.
A class that does Business English, or at least some Business English.
Some interest in finding out about business and in improving your teaching of Business English
 
Who teaches the course:
Experienced teacher trainers who have a lot of experience in teaching business and company courses themselves

Mon/Tue/Wed 16:00 - 18:00 (Application deadline: 15 June)

Course 2:

21 Sept 2012 - 26 April 2013
Every other Fri 12:30-14:30 (Application deadline: 31 August)
