Language audit
Before the courses start all students take the IH Bratislava Placement test, because it is necessary to identify the language levels of students and create classes of students of a similar level. The placement test divides students into groups based on the levels of the Common European Framework for languages (CEF).
- written test
Structure of the written test: a maximum of 150 multiple choice questions which are divided into 3 parts. It is focused on vocabulary, syntax, morphology as well as phraseology and language functions.
The purpose of the written part is to establish the language level of students. - oral test
The oral part tests a student’s general ability to express ideas in the English language and the range of vocabulary and grammar which the student can use. It takes the form of an interview with a teacher. The purpose of the oral part is to validate the results of the written part and to establish more precisely starting language level of students.
Independent language assessment
International House can arrange at anytime to administer an independent assessment of language skills using tests provided by well established and recognized testing authorities such as: Cambridge ESOL or ETS.
